Curtis Blair

I grew up playing soccer in the Chattanooga area. From a beginning in recreational soccer to indoor and select team plays, soccer has almost always been a part of my life. When I reached adolescence, I played for Soddy-Daisy High School and was selected All-State my senior year.

After graduation, I went on to Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, TN where I was a starting player all four years. While I was in college, I began coaching with the Hamilton Futbol Club and stayed with them for three years until they merged with Redoubt Futbol Club. At that time I became an assistant coach for the Men and Women at Tennessee Wesleyan College during the 2000-2001 year.

I graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science with an emphasis in physical education and health and moved back to Chattanooga.

After finishing at Tennessee Wesleyan, I accepted a teaching job at Orchard Knob Elementary School and was hired to coach soccer at Hixson High School for the 2001-2002 year.

After a year teaching, accepted the job as Director of Coaching and Player Development for Tennessee State Soccer Association. I was in charge of overseeing the Olympic Development Program and Coaching Schools, as well as programs to develop coaches and players.

I returned to the teaching field when I was hired as a Wellness teacher at Ooltewah High School and became the men and women’s head coach. This past year I took the same teaching position with The Baylor School and assistant coach with the boy’s and girl’s soccer program at Baylor.

I am also involved as a state head coach for the Olympic Development Program and also the coaching school coordinator for the Southeastern District for Tennessee State Soccer Association. Concurrently, I am serving as the ODP State Head Coach for the 92 girl’s team. In addition to my experience, I also hold several licenses and certifications, which include:
• USSF “A” license
• USSF “Youth” License
• NSCAA “Youth” Diploma
• Southeastern Coaching School District Coordinator for Tennessee State Soccer Association
• ODP State Head Coach for the 92 Girls Coaches: Redoubt FC 99 Boy’s and Redoubt FC 91 Girl’s
